Backflow into a public water system poses various hazards, categorized as severe, moderate, or minor. To uphold the city's commitment to delivering safe and potable water, SafeFlow Solutions, led by a Qualified Technician (Professional Engineer and/or Master Plumber), conducts comprehensive Cross-Connection Surveys. Our team assesses potential hazards at your site, preparing a detailed Cross-Connection Survey Report submitted to city or regional administration, ensuring compliance with city by-laws. Owners are responsible for scheduling these surveys periodically, as mandated by the city, typically every five years.
Mechanical backflow preventers require periodic testing to ensure optimal functionality, preventing water contamination. SafeFlow's Qualified Technicians conduct thorough tests, complying with city by-laws and industry standards. Owners with Backflow Prevention Devices are urged to schedule annual tests, with SafeFlow providing timely testing and submitting the Backflow Prevention Device Report to the City in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Owners with Backflow Prevention Devices must ensure continuous maintenance to keep the devices in optimal condition. If a malfunction is detected during testing, SafeFlow's Qualified Technicians promptly notify the Owner and City, following up with written reports. Repairs or replacements are executed within the specified time limits set by city by-laws, accompanied by retesting and submission of a comprehensive Backflow Prevention Device Report to the city.
SafeFlow Solutions takes charge of new Backflow Prevention Device installations or replacements. Our in-house Qualified Professional Engineer and Master Plumber carefully select the appropriate model, providing detailed documentation and drawings submitted to the city. The installation process adheres to CSA Standards, Ontario Building Code, and city by-laws. SafeFlow ensures a seamless process, from permit acquisition to installation and testing, guaranteeing compliance with all regulatory standards.
Safeflow's technicians will remove the discharge water meter and place the discharge system on standby. Following this, they will recalibrate the discharge water meter. Once recalibration is complete, the technician will reinstall the discharge water meter and reactivate the system, ensuring accurate measurement of water flow.
